Non-determinism in the Pacific Ocean

Shades of gray indicate level of determinism in sea surface height, based on an ensemble of four eddy resolving simulation of the Pacific Ocean. Low values (dark shades of gray) indicate regions of high levels of determinism, and high values (light shade of gray and white) correspond to low levels of determinism.
